Accessing Website Data

Orlando Gay PagesEmerge recently worked with Orlando Gay Pages to enable them to extract website user data and share this data with their advertisers through email.

Orlando Gay Pages is an online directory of service providers that are open to alternative lifestyles. This site lists businesses in a number of categories and enables site users to search by keyword or category.

The new statistics package enables the client to see which categories are searched most often, what keywords users and searching for and the number of times each advertiser is viewed and how many users click over to advertisers websites.

There is also an option to schedule and automated email that will send statistics to each advertiser to let them know how their advertisements are performing. As a safeguard, the automated email sends a reminder to the Administrator 3-days prior to sending to all advertisers.

Cyber Monday Sets 1-day Spending Record

Over $733 million was spent online by consumers on Cyber Monday, the first Monday after Thanksgiving, a 21% increase over last year.

According to Nielsen Online, 32.5 million people shopped online on Cyber Monday, an increase of 38% over last year. Sixty percent of dollars spent online came from work computers, with the remainder coming from home and university computers.

Consumers More Likely to Use Businesses with Websites

Results from the recent Discover Small Business Watch poll shows that websites produce real results for small businesses. Over half of consumers do online research prior to making a purchase and just under half say they are more likely to use a business if it has a website.

Other Internet related results include:

  1. 50% of owners said their websites generate direct sales leads for their businesses.
  2. 49% of business owners regularly communicate with customers via e-mail.
  3. 11% of shoppers plan to do most of their shopping online.
  4. 95% of consumers who make online purchases at least once a month feel very or somewhat secure with their transactions.
