When the Lorain County Chamber of Commerce approached Emerge about redesigning their website, they had 3 goals; improve communications, reduce costs and increase revenue. Emerge worked with the Chamber to devise the best way to use the Internet to achieve these goals. The result is a website strategy that addresses all 3 goals. Communication is improved by setting up the site to allow Chamber staff to update the site on a regular basis and to allow members to add information about their business, products and services. Costs are reduced by using e-mail to communicate with members and reduce the number of postal mailings. Revenue is generated from sponsorship and enhanced listings that allow members to pay a small fee for marketing benefits on the site.
