Since 1969, The Lorain Sports Hall of Fame has recognized the athletes, coaches, teams, and community members who have helped shape Lorain’s sports history.
More than five decades later, that history includes more than 500 individual and team inductees, annual enshrinement classes, awards, banquet videos, museum exhibits, photographs, and stories spanning generations.
Emerge recently launched a redesigned Lorain Sports Hall of Fame website built to make all of that history easier to find, explore, and maintain.
Making History Easier to Explore
One of the biggest changes centered around the Hall of Fame’s inductee records.
With hundreds of past inductees, simply scrolling through a long list made finding a particular athlete or era difficult. The redesigned inductee directory gives visitors several ways to narrow the collection and find what they’re looking for.
Visitors can now search inductees by name, browse alphabetically, and filter records by sport and induction year. Individual and team inductees are organized into a more structured experience that makes it easier to explore Lorain’s athletic history without losing the depth of information the Hall of Fame has collected over the years.
Whether someone is looking for a particular athlete, researching a sport, or simply browsing past classes, the information is now much easier to navigate.
Bringing the Site Up to Date
The project extended well beyond the inductee directory.
The redesign gave Emerge an opportunity to rethink how information was organized throughout the rest of the site. Content was condensed and reorganized into new layouts, with clearer paths to current enshrinees, events, museum information, awards, banquet videos, and other Hall of Fame resources.
A new Gallery page was also created to give the Hall of Fame a dedicated space for photographs from its collection and events.
Along with the new design and structure, content across the site was updated to ensure the information visitors find reflects the Hall of Fame today.

Built for the Next Chapter
A Hall of Fame website has an unusual job. It needs to preserve information from decades ago while continuing to grow every year.
New inductees will be added. New banquet classes will be announced. Photos, events, museum information, and records will continue to expand.
The redesigned site gives the Lorain Sports Hall of Fame a clearer structure for that growth while making the experience simpler for the people who visit it today.
For an organization dedicated to preserving Lorain’s athletic legacy, the goal was not to replace the history that was already there. It was to make that history easier to discover.
