About Emerge

Emerge is a small team focused on providing web and software development that enriches lives in local communities. We have an entrepreneurial fast paced environment and primarily work with local businesses, non-profits, government agencies and economic development organizations.

The primary focus of this position will be the LorainCounty.com community site. Help us tell positive stories from around Lorain County.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee content on LorainCounty.com - a local website designed to build a sense of community by sharing positive local stories and helping local businesses reach local consumers
• Develop and manage editorial calendar for LorainCounty.com mapped to business objectives
• Creatively and authentically tell stories of local businesses, events and experiences
• Manage social media content creation
• Take videos and photos around the county that complement the overarching content strategy
• Show your enthusiasm for our great County by writing multiple stories each week focused on the best and most positive things happening, often finding the hidden gems.
• Coach partner and freelance content providers to ensure adherence to LorainCounty.com standards
• Interpret and communicate results of LorainCounty.com content performance
• Network and build relationships in the community both in-person and using digital tools

• Possesses strong multitasking ability, with an aptitude for managing multiple deadlines at once
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Outgoing and personable and is comfortable networking and building relationships, both in person and using digital tools
• Strong spelling and grammar skills
• Detail oriented and flexible/adaptable

Work Location

• Primarily in-office in Avon Lake, Ohio to collaborate with the team. Option for occasional work from home.
